Our History in Marana
Marana is one of the older settled places in the region and one of the newest towns. Farming along the Santa Cruz shaped the area for generations, and the Titan II Missile Base 570-6 site out in the desert is a reminder that for part of the twentieth century this ground was valued mostly for being empty. The town did not incorporate until 1977, and the residential growth that defines it now arrived decades later.
That produces a housing stock unlike Oro Valley or the Foothills. Most of what we remodel in Marana was built from the late 1990s onward, in planned communities that went up fast and to a consistent specification. The wiring is modern. The framing is straight. The plumbing is where the plans said it would be. What has aged is taste and the finish package, not the structure.
It also means these houses have room to change. Marana lots are generally larger than what you find closer in, and the floor plans were drawn with fewer interior bearing walls, so opening a kitchen into a great room is often a smaller structural conversation than it would be on an older house.
